2011 Aquatic Species At RiskThe interactive map below provides access to information that depicts Aquatic Species at Risk (SAR) within Conservation Authority watersheds as provided by Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO). Conservation Authority Species At Risk Distribution Maps are available for download using the interactive map or by clicking on the Conservation Authority links below. These maps assist agencies in determining whether development proposals should be referred to DFO as a result of presence or absence of Species at Risk and impacts of development proposal activities on the species and their habitats. Conservation Authorities below. Information from this fish distribution data comes from a national freshwater fish distribution database developed within DFO. The mussel distribution data is a compilation of data from various sources (disclaimer below). Protocols for relocating SAR mussels and sampling SAR fish. For more information, please refer to the Government of Canada's COSEWIC website (at www.cosewic.gc.ca) or contact your local DFO biologist.
